Insert coin: A journey into sorrow

Among our most cherished works is "Insert Coin," a poem that encapsulates the essence of our style. It's a piece we're incredibly proud of, and we invite you to experience its emotional resonance. Let its verses guide you through a narrative of pain and reflection.

Insert Coin

Insert coin and watch me cry, go ahead all you have to do is say the magic word “goodbye” And I’ll crumble into pieces in reverse, almost as though I was never shattered in two pieces and left for dead in the dirt A frown will turn into a smile quicker than the blink of an eye, and those tears that were once upon my cheek will disappear like rain rising back into the sky My hands will be so still no longer shaking and holding myself up, they will be able to reach and touch your face just to feel a rush The deadness in my eyes will start to sparkle and take on a gleam like you have never seen, because they will be looking into the eyes that they love the man of my dreams But you only get a few minutes and then the act will start to fade away, and the sadness will return until you pay for another play But the sadist in you, he has a pocket full of coins, because you get joy in watching me bend, break and be destroyed You love the power that piece of silver gives you that you hold inside of your hand, knowing that you can put me right back together and bring me to my knees once again You could stand here at this booth and be greedy keeping me all to yourself while others watch as you put on your own show, and the sad part is that I go along with it because you broke me, I’m no longer whole When you run out of coins, I think to myself finally, I can rest and as I deflate to a pile of dead memories my heart takes its last breath You stand there for a little while longer as though you're capturing the look of me lifeless in your head, and as much as I want for you to insert another coin, I know this time the game is truly over you have left me dead.
